Copying An Existing Item to a New Item

How to Copy an Item in 10X ERP

This guide explains how to copy an existing item in 10X ERP to create a new item with similar attributes, reducing manual data entry.

  • LOCATE the Copy Icon: Open the item to be copied. Find the copy icon, which is also present in other areas like price quotes, sales orders, and purchase orders.
  • EXECUTE the Copy: Click the copy icon. The system will generate a new item labeled as a copy (e.g., "hammer drill copy").
  • EDIT Item Details:
    1. Update the item description to avoid duplication (e.g., change "hammer drill copy" to "half-inch hammer drill").
    2. Modify fields such as item code, primary vendor, status, and attributes as needed. Pre-filled details can also be edited.
  • ENSURE Units of Measure Match: If the copied item requires a different unit of measure, create the new item manually to avoid errors.
  • PUBLISH the Item: Finalize the copied item and add specific details like minimum and maximum stock levels, cross-references, or other relevant data.

Note: Always verify the accuracy of the copied item, particularly the unit of measure and other critical attributes, before publishing.
