Create a Label

Creating a custom label in 10X ERP allows you to design item, location, or line-item labels with custom text, variable fields, barcodes, and images. Label templates are created in the Label Templates area, where you can define the label size, type, and layout. Once configured, labels can be previewed, tested, and printed using the selected template. This process makes it easy to create professional, scannable labels tailored to your operational needs.

  • Navigate to Admin > Templates > Labels and click the + icon to create a new label template.
  • Enter a Label Name, specify the Label Height and Width, select the appropriate Label Type, and optionally assign a Default Printer.
  • Add a Text Box and enter static text (such as "Item:") in the Variable Text field to display fixed text on the label.
  • Insert another Text Box and use Add Variable to select the field you want printed dynamically, such as the Item Number.
  • Adjust Font Sizes, Positioning, and Alignment as needed, using the Grid View and Coordinates for precise placement.
  • Add additional Text Boxes for other information, such as the Item Description, and assign the appropriate Variable Fields.
  • Insert a Barcode by selecting the Barcode tool, positioning it on the label, and choosing the desired Barcode Type.
  • Assign a Variable Field to the Barcode so it generates a scannable value, such as the Item Number.
  • Add an Image by selecting the Image tool, choosing a file from your computer, and positioning it on the label.
  • Preview the completed label and publish it using the Check Mark icon.
  • Open Tools > Label to test the new template with an item record.
  • Select the Item, choose any applicable Lot Information, and click Print Selected.
  • Choose the newly created Label Template and review the print preview to confirm the layout, barcode, and image display correctly.
  • Select a Printer and click Print to generate the label.
