Creating a Transfer Order (TO) from a Sales Order; Linking Transfer Orders to Sales Orders
This feature allows you to create and link transfer orders directly from a sales order to move inventory between warehouses. When stock is located elsewhere, you can generate a transfer order to fulfill the sales order and track it through the backorder queue. Transfer orders can also be linked independently to sales orders, ensuring incoming inventory is automatically allocated. Once received, the transferred items update availability and flow into shipment and fulfillment.
- Identify Backordered Items Across Warehouses by reviewing availability and confirming stock exists in a different location than the sales order warehouse.
- Create Transfer Order from Sales Order using the Create Transfer Order option to move inventory between warehouses.
- Link Existing Transfer Orders if Needed through the backorder queue to reserve incoming stock for specific sales order lines.
- Select Source and Destination Warehouses to define where the inventory is coming from and where it will be received.
- Review Transfer Order in Backorder Queue where it appears alongside linked purchase orders and shows committed and linked quantities.
- Publish and Process Transfer Order through its lifecycle until the inventory is received into the destination warehouse.
- Receive Inventory to Trigger Allocation so the system automatically assigns transferred stock to the linked sales order lines.
- Confirm Shipment from Sales Order after transfer receipt to fulfill the order using the newly available inventory.
