Backorder Management with the Backorder Tool
The Backorders Tool in 10X ERP helps you manage items with backordered quantities, identify whether they are covered by incoming POs, and link or create POs as needed. You can also prioritize backorder records, filter by vendor, and export the data for external use. This guide walks you through viewing, filtering, linking, and managing your backorders to streamline purchasing decisions.
- Navigate to Tools > Backorders to access the Backorders screen, which displays all items with backordered quantities across the system.
- Review key inventory metrics such as On Backorder, On Work Order, On Hand, Availability, PO Amount, and # of Orders/Lines to evaluate item status.
- Use the "Exclude POs Over Backorders" filter to isolate items that need POs created because there’s not enough incoming inventory to cover demand.
- Click the Q icon to view associated Sales Orders and any existing Purchase Orders for a backordered item.
- Link Sales Orders to available POs by selecting the item, clicking the pencil icon, and entering the quantity to be linked.
- Publish draft POs from within the tool to make them eligible for linking to backorders.
- Reorder backorder priority by using the “Move Selected Records” option to adjust item positioning in the queue.
- Filter by Vendor Name to view and select all backorders tied to a specific vendor for PO creation.
- Increase the row display count to ensure all filtered records are selected when creating POs in bulk.
