Transforming One Item to Another; Creating Items from Existing Items without Work Orders

This video explains how to quickly transform one inventory item into another in 10X ERP without creating a work order. This is useful for scenarios like cutting raw materials into smaller pieces or converting rolls into finished items while preserving all cost and vendor data. The Transform feature allows open-ended conversions as long as inventory is not committed.

• Identify the source item by locating the item and selecting the appropriate Lot that is not committed.
• Open the Transform action by clicking the Transform button next to Move and Adjust on the Lot record.
• Enter the transform quantity by specifying how much of the original item will be converted.
• Select the new item by choosing the target part number the inventory will be transformed into.
• Complete the transform to immediately move quantity to a new Lot with all Cost, Vendor, and History data preserved.

Note that the parts needs to be on a Closed PO Receipt before they can be transformed. A Draft PO Bill can be created to allow this to happen while waiting for the final Bill.
