How to Create and Assign Item Categories in 10X ERP
This video covers how to create item categories in 10X ERP, structure them using parent/child relationships, and assign them to products. Categories can include optional fields like buyer and country of origin, and can be numbered for easier organization. Users can manage these categories individually or in bulk via import/export functionality.
- Access Admin > Items > Categories To View and Manage Item Categories
- Use Tree View To Understand Parent/Child Structure of Categories
- Click “Create” to Add a New Category, Leaving Parent Blank if It’s a Top-Level Category
- Fill Optional Fields Such as Buyer and Country of Origin
- Click “Publish” to Save the Category
- Create Child Categories by Selecting the Parent When Adding a New Category
- Use Numbering Scheme (e.g., 80, 801, 802) to Keep Categories Organized
- Assign Categories to Items by Opening the Item File, Going to the Main Tab, and Selecting the Category
- Export Items Without Categories to Update Them and Re-Import with Assigned Categories
- Use Import Function for Bulk Category Creation or Assignment via Spreadsheet
