Warehouse Locations and Location Types

To set up warehouse locations and location types in 10X ERP, you must have Admin permissions. Locations help organize inventory, while location types classify storage areas for better tracking and allocation.

Steps to Create Location Types:

  1. NAVIGATE to Admin > Warehouses > Location Types.
  2. CLICK New to create a location type.
  3. ENTER a Type Name, Description, and optionally a Weight Allowance.
  4. SAVE the location type.

Steps to Create Warehouse Locations:

  1. GO TO Admin > Warehouses > Locations.
  2. SELECT New to add a warehouse location.
  3. ENTER a Location Code, Description, and Warehouse Assignment.
  4. DEFINE a Parent Location if needed (e.g., Aisle A → A101).
  5. SET inventory tracking by checking the appropriate box.
  6. CONFIGURE Allocation settings to control order fulfillment.
  7. SAVE the warehouse location.

Key Considerations:

  • Priority Settings: Lower numbers indicate higher allocation priority.
  • Allocation Control: Only enable for locations used in order fulfillment (e.g., exclude quarantine areas).
