Setting up Automated Pickup Reminders
Setup Email Templates
You can configure up to five emails to use with the Pickup Tool. Below are the steps to set up these emails:
Pickup Emails - Ready for Pickup
(Notifies your customer that their order is ready for pickup.)
Pickup Emails - First Reminder
(First reminder, if needed.)
Pickup Emails - Second Reminder
(Second reminder, if needed.)
Pickup Emails - Final Reminder
(Final reminder, if needed.)
Pickup Emails - Abandoned Order
(Sends a notice to your internal Sales team, instructing them to cancel the order.)
Steps to Set Up the Ready for Pickup Email
Go to Admin / Templates / Email Templates
Create a new email template for the Ready for Pickup email.
The following fields are required for this email:
- Name: The name of the email template.
- From Email: The email address that will send the pickup notification.
- Subject: The subject line of the email.
- Action: Select the correct action from the drop-down menu.
- Message: Customize the message as needed. The message template can include database fields that will be dynamically replaced with values from each order when the email is sent.
Steps to Set Up Other Pickup Emails
To set up the remaining Pickup emails (First Reminder, Second Reminder, Final Reminder, and Abandoned Order):
- Go to Admin / Templates / Email Templates
- Create a new template for each additional Pickup-related email following the same format as the Ready for Pickup email.
- Select the correct Action from the drop-down menu to ensure the appropriate email is triggered.
Set the Period Between Emails
- Go to Admin / Settings / Settings / General - Will Call Pickup Reminders
- Set the time interval (in days) between each email to control the sequence of reminder emails.
